Our Pre-Calculus Essentials Enrichment Program is for students wanting to get ahead and surpass their peers while learning interesting math concepts.  Our program covers core concepts in Grade 11 Functions (MCR3U), Grade 12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U), and Grade 12 Data Management (MDM4U).  By studying the topics in Ontario's pre-calculus courses, students can get ahead of the traditional Ontario education system and encounter more advanced concepts at an earlier age. This opportunity may allow them to fast-track through high school and enjoy an easier learning experience, as they will have already covered many topics taught in school. As a result, this can lead to a higher academic standing.  The course emphasises individual assignments, including the Weekly Problem Sets (ten questions requiring deep thinking and application displayed in formal solutions).  Students encounter challenging drills, including Radian to Degrees Conversions and Trigonometric Ratio Sets.  The Pre-Calculus Essentials program is an extensive program for high-achieving students looking for a challenge outside of day school.  Pre-Calculus Essentials is available for grades 7-10.  Classes run twice a week for 8 months (regular program).  Classes are 1 hour and 30 minutes in duration.  

• Core Curriculum: inverse functions, parent functions, quadratic functions, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, trigonometric identities, trigonometric graphing, trigonometric applications, discrete functions, rational functions, polynomial functions, combining functions, sequences and series, limits, definition of derivative, statistical analysis, permutations, combinations, probability, data investigation

• Problem Solving: Weekly Problem Sets (ten questions requiring deep thinking and application displayed in formal solutions)

• Drill: Radian to Degrees Conversions, Trigonometric Ratio Sets

• Assessments: take-home quizzes, unit tests, final exam
